Hi All.

Judging by smiles on 28 faces and many photos taken, it can be concluded that our annual golf trip to Corowa Golf Club was enjoyed by all. Having said that, it also needs to be accepted that the course is a challenging layout and may have presented more than a mild headache for most of us, but challenge is what we thrive on, otherwise why would we take up golf. Not that everyone struggled though and a good example of that is Steven Smilovic, who did pretty well as he liked on the 1st day with 39 points and 2nd day with 35 points. No need to point out that with 2-day aggregate of 74 points made him a runaway Cro Open winner, by 9 points. The runner up was Ivan Luburic(Luba) with 65 points, a couple of 66 pointers, but after that the scores were fair way back.
Outside of golf, we were blessed with fantastic sunny days and freezing cold nights/mornings, tasty BBQ after golf on day 1 (thank you Vlado) and plenty of all types of drinks to make the afternoon very pleasant indeed. Day 2 was early morning golf and a cut lunch in the afternoon followed by friendly game of Mannila for some and heaps of socialising by most under the bright blue sky, with some more varied drinks in hand of all. It proves year in year out, that the trip is epitome of what our social club is meant to deliver for members and strengthens our resolve to keep it going.

Thank you to all committee members for their work to make this trip as successful as it was.

Not everything went exactly to plan for everyone as Luka Kovacevic and David Jukic will concur, having had an unfortunate car accident on the way down, but thankfully both escaped without injuries and made it to the course later on Friday afternoon. It’s a testament to their strength of character that after disruption to their day and the scare of accident, they were able to put that behind them for those 3 days and still enjoy the trip. Well done boys!
A couple of teething problems with accommodation on arrival, but that was sorted out quickly enough and we were all one happy bunch of blokes again. The Corowa club staff were very friendly and accommodating and made us feel welcome.
